The shipment of Famine awards has arrived. Bill will have them at church, or call him and stop by his house to pick yours up.

Our donations have been collected and are on their way to World Vision to care for hungry and needy kids in Uganda and other countries. We have great news ... our collections this year were our most ever!! $12,679! This is enough to feed 35 kids for a full year, and with the government matching, it'll feed 140 kids for a year!... praise God! I'm passing on a huge "Thank You" from the people we're helping and from World Vision!
March 8, 2007: Donations
$10,670.47 has been turned in so far! 24 participants have turned in their donations, and 7 participants have not.
March 5, 2007: Ernie's review of the famine
Our first words were, "No food?!? Are you crazy? I can't go 5 hours without
eating!!" But surprise, surprise, we did it!!! The whole 30 hours, tribal games, Bill's snoring, extensive lifting, we got through it. After the meal, the most common answer to, "How did it go?" was, "It wasn't that hard." When we arrived, we served the cute little kids their snacks and watched "Moe and the big Exit." Afterwards, the group played some games and watched a movie. We ATTEMPTED to sleep, if it weren't for those ANNOYING PEOPLE who KEEP US ALL AWAKE!!!!!! In the morning, we headed off to Maude Carpender's children's home and did some awsome service projects! Then we all packed up and headed back for more games, 1 1/2 movies, and THE FEAST!!!!! Good Job

Feb 20, 2007: Update
~ Only 3 more days until the famine starts. Please pray for the kids we're helping, and also for good donations for our group and the other groups all over the country. Our group's fundraising is going good - it would be awesome if we could break last year's giving record!
Feb 7, 2007: Update
~ Feb 11 will be "Famine Sunday" at our church. Bill will tell the congregation about 30 Hour Famine in all 3 services. Bring your name tag and pledge book in case you have an opportunity to sign-up new donors!

~ our jr MBY group was the #1 fund raiser for the state of Kansas in 2006!!

~ The U.S. government has awarded World Vision even more food-related matching grants, so instead of multiplying your Famine donations two times, they will now have four times the impact! That means every dollar we collect we feed a child for 4 days, and $360 collected will feed 4 people for a year!!
