We got to church, pretty exhausted, but it was time to play more T.R.I.B.E. games! Donna set up a couple games, which were tons ‘o fun. In the end, the Acholi tribe won with the most survival cards. That tribe consisted of Cheyenne, Rebecca, Hannah, Joel, Ben, and Justin ~ YAY! Afterwards, we watched several movies. Halfway through Indiana Jones, Bill announced that it was time to eat!! (Music to most people’s ears!) Of course, the Acholi tribe got to go through the line, and eventually we all got to dine on sandwiches, nachos, fruit, chips, brownies, cookies, and pop. A satisfying ending to great time! ~~~Oscar

Friday AM: After all the leaders dragged us out of bed, we all left at 9:00 AM (ugh) to go to
Maude Carpenter Children's Home

Once we were there, Jay Plank gave us jobs. Some of us set tables, some gardened, some picked up trash, some lifted heavy objects, and some chopped off tree branches (heh).

We all worked really hard to fix up the grounds for the teenage girls that live there.
these guys moved concrete blocks ...

some hauled trash from the basement of a building.

... others worked in the gardens

some picked up trash from the grounds

... some were taking pictures!

these guys were hauling chairs

these girls were triming trees and hauling limbs

...and these girls were opening boxes of paperware
and sorting and stacking the contents

we met a new friend and she helped us!

After 2 1/2 hours of non-stop work, we went to the gym to play around and hang out. Most of us played basketball or volleyball, but some just relaxed.

Some of the group decided to keeping working because the gardening wasn't finished!

finally all the gardening was done so we took some pictures with another new friend

Our whole group

Finally, we headed back to the church, but not before Scott left his jacket in the gym, much to the frustration of the people in Bill’s van.
