Freshman Farewell
August 19-20

We decided to go to Morning Star Ranch for our 2005 Freshman Farewell. The trip started out pretty normal: we left Wichita around 5:50 pm (a few minutes behind schedule). The weather was hot (about 110 degrees) and everyone was hoping for some cooler weather. We were soon on the road to MSR and noticed dark clouds to the northwest. we were a little concerned but not concerned enough to turn back. When we arrived at MSR, we went to the top of the hill (by the cross) to set up camp. There's a great view from up there ... and we could see a lot of slc's and lightning, but they were far away.

But soon they got closer and the wind started blowing.

10 minutes later the storm arrived and our "campout" plans changed

... it rained the rest of the night, and we spent the night inside the MSR lodge!

Our campfire was replaced with an oven to cook our hotdogs, beans, and smores.

But they tasted just as good - maybe better!
... everyone answered the call for seconds

After the tasty dinner, Val brought over some games and we decided to play "Apples to Apples"

It was so much fun we forgot about the storm and played for 2 hour!!

next everyone tried some karate moves and other physical feats.

we played charades for a while, and by then it was after midnight, so we all got our pj's on

Bill read a story about Saul and Samuel. We talked about Jr MBY stuff and then went to bed

when we got up the next day the rain had stopped. We ate breakfast, and walked the Romans Road together.
We saw some wildlife along the way

we stopped and put up a sign along the trail

and crossed over the bridge we built last October.

we made it to the top and to the cross

and took our final group picture!
